What will you do?

As our ideal Technology Program Manager you are fluent in French and have experience owning and running complex programs and projects. You will own the technology success (both near term tactical planning/execution and long term strategic planning) in Canada without qualification.

You have a track record of learning new industries, and solving for complex challenges related to multiple languages and currencies. You are adept at uncovering the needs of your customers, and creating the business requirements that will lead to successful technology implementation. As our Technology Program Manager, you will partner with Canadian Market Center leaders, agents, and staff, as well as the team at KWRI, vendors, and partners—wearing multiple hats and loving it.

Our Canadian Technology Program Manager will work remotely in Canada—traveling extensively to our Market Centers in Canada and our corporate headquarters in Austin, Texas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with business partners—Canadian Market Center leadership, staff and agents—to understand what is necessary to dominate the real estate industry in Canada today, and identify what will be needed to create the Canadian real estate industry of the future.
  • Drive requirements-gathering from business partners. Document detailed requirements for complex capabilities and business processes to create simple intuitive workflows for business partners.
  • Work with internal and external technical teams to provide comprehensive solutions and/or solution roadmaps to achieve our business partners’ goals.
  • This position will work hand-in-hand with the KWRI technology team in Austin to ensure that company-wide initiatives are fully-functional for our Canadian business partners.
  • Leadership, organization and communication are key. Must have and demonstrate the ability to:
    • Condense complexity into digestible communications depending on the audience
    • Facilitate team interaction, collaboration and activity
    • Manage the tools of both long-term planning and daily execution
    • Present to all levels, including Market Center leadership, agents, KWRI executive team, external partners and KWRI technology team
  • Must have and demonstrate the ability to professionally engage internal business partners, internal resources and external partners/vendors for the purpose of:
    • Creating business definition that enables technical solutions and roadmaps to be created and executed
    • Driving program success without qualification—working in both the tactical and strategic levels; adaptable as player and coach to get things done, even if success requires stretching outside a typical program manager role
  • Travel required (up to 75%) to KW offices in Canada, KWRI headquarters in Austin, Texas, and other destinations as necessary.

Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Critical skills include: leadership, project management, product management, communication (verbal, written and presentation).
  • Experience is critical. Must have at least five years (10 years preferred) of owning and running complex programs, projects and/or products with a track record of success and failing forward.
  • Knowledge of Canadian real estate industry, including MLS/IDX/DDF/listings hub integration is required.  
  • Experience with technology implementation, IT products and software is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Must be fluent in French.
